About
Founded in 2022 by Krista, Witch of the West began with a vision of creating something different—a safe, inclusive, women-led tattoo studio built around community, creativity, and a desire to challenge some of the outdated practices still lingering in the industry.
Shortly after laying the groundwork for the studio, Krista was joined by two fellow artists she had connected with through the internet. The three met for the first time in August 2022, and just one month later, the doors to Witch of the West officially opened. What began as Krista’s vision quickly grew into a larger dream: creating a space where artists could thrive and clients could feel genuinely welcome.
With a newly signed lease in hand for an old, run-down therapist’s office, the three recruited all the help they could muster to renovate this space and turn it into a tattoo studio. Day after day, the renovation crew arrived in Crocs and Doc Martens—the unmistakable uniform of people who knew far more about tattooing than construction, but were determined to figure it out anyway. With the help of family, friends, partners, and even a few perfect strangers, the space was transformed into Witch of the West in just six short weeks—a testament to what can happen when determination, community, and a whole lot of girl-power come together.
Within its first year, Witch of the West grew from three artists to five with the addition of Ariel and Thavy. As the studio continued to flourish, it quickly outgrew its original space. In 2025, the team relocated to a larger studio, taking on another round of extensive renovations to transform it into their new home. Following the move, Witch of the West welcomed Hannah, Julia, Allison, and Mason to the team, continuing to grow both its artists and its community.
It has since blossomed into a vibrant and bustling space, housing eight full-time tattoo artists and hosting guest artists from around the world. The Witches have become known for being one of the most comfortable and positive tattoo experiences in Fort Collins and the Northern Colorado area, attracting visitors from all over the US and even gaining viral attention across social media.
